Ekaterina has a background as a journalist and editor specializing in improving relations between the U.S. and Russia. For the past four years, she worked as the Deputy Chief Editor for foreign affairs at Russia Beyond The Headlines and then as the Editor-in-Chief of Russia Direct. Both publications strive to facilitate dialogue between Russian and American political, business, cultural and academic communities. Before that she worked as a special correspondent for Russia’s leading news agency RIA Novosti covering Russian domestic politics and human rights issues.

Ekaterina graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia, with a B.A. in journalism and earned her Master’s degree in political science from Miami University, U.S.A. as a Fulbright scholar. She is passionate about international relations, education, and journalism and is inspired to improve mutual understanding between the two countries by promoting people-to-people contacts.
