Passport

Every student needs a valid passport. If you are a US citizen and need to apply, please contact the passport division of the State Department. Routine service requires 4-6 weeks.

 

Visa for Portugal

Program managers can advise students about the application process, timeline and documents required.

To schedule an appointment with the Portuguese Consulate in Boston, visit the online visa system. It is recommended to book an appointment at least one month in advance of your departure date.

Flight

Each student flight is booked either by MISTI Portugal or the host. Students may choose to book their own flight and then get reimbursed by MISTI. All flights must be pre-approved by the MISTI Portugal Program Manager.

Accommodation

MISTI provides resources and advice for housing throughout Portugal. Housing options vary by location, so start looking early.
