Sydney-Johanna Stevns is the inaugural Program Manager for the new MIT-Denmark program. She is responsible for building out this program and connecting MIT faculty and students with opportunities for work and research in the Kingdom of Denmark. Growing up in a Danish household and having lived and studied in Denmark herself, Sydney is a native speaker of the language.
Prior to joining MIT, Sydney worked as a Country Engagement Specialist for World Resources Institute in Washington, DC, supporting climate efforts in Latin America and the Caribbean. She holds a Master of Arts from The Fletcher School at Tufts University with a specialization in Development Economics and a Bachelor of Science from Northeastern University. Previously, she worked in public health and served as a Fulbright Fellow in Indonesia. Her interests include biking, baking rye bread, and learning new languages.
