"In a field as broad as computer science, I feel as though I finally found a niche application that demonstrates how powerful it can really be for fields not typically associated with software. The ability to leave the MIT bubble and the echo chamber of the entire US allowed me to appreciate how people are combining existing fields and methodologies to solve problems in ways otherwise unthinkable. The best way to simultaneously learn and contribute is to interact with groups of people we don't typically interact with, and the best way to find such a group is abroad."
Adrian's story
Adrian Maciuca '29, an artificial intelligence and decision making major, worked as a research intern in a bioengineering lab at Imperial College London. His summer was filled with exploring new places and learning about different cultures that enriched his experience even more.
