Olakanmi Oladayo 
(ETT Spring 2017) The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), the Regulator of the telecommunication industry in Nigeria, supports among other things, telecommunication-based innovations, inventions, and research from tertiary institutions in the country that are practical, locally realizable and have a clear potential for developing the telecommunications industry.  Dr. Oladayo Olakanmi submitted a proposal for a call for fifteen million naira grant in 2018. The proposal was accepted in April 2019. 

 


Ogheneruona Diemuodeke (Spring 2018) -  has secured funding for curriculum development - MSc in Energy Access and Renewable Energy Technology (EA-RET) - under the Transforming Energy Access – Learning Partnership program, funded by the Department for International Development of the United Kingdom (DfID) and overseen by the Carbon Trust. The proposed MSc program will respond to decentralized, off-grid and mini-grid clean energy production for household, productive (e.g., agro-processing, small businesses, etc.) and public (e.g., schools, healthcare facilities, etc.) uses. According to Dr. Diemuodeke, his training at MIT has contributed to this success. 

 


Dr. Cosmas Uchenna OGBUKA (ETT Spring 2017) led a delegation from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka to MIT to participate in the J-WEL Week 2019 (April 1-4, 2019) of the Abdul Latif Jameel World Education Lab, MIT. Dr. Ogbuka, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering, has had rapid career advancements upon completion of the ETT Fellowship and is currently the Director of the Computer Communications Center of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

 


Dr. Chika Yinka-Banjo (ETT Spring 2019) delivered a speech at the Women Deliver 2019 Conference in Vancouver Canada The Women Deliver 2019 conference took place in June 2019 in Vancouver, Canada. It is the world’s largest conference on gender equality and the health, rights, and well-being of girls and women in the 21st century and shares new knowledge, promotes world-class solutions, and engages a broad spectrum of voices.
