Francesca's Story

Francesca worked for la Caixa Bank - the largest bank in Barcelona and while their Digital Business office normally focuses on everything related to catering to the consumer through online channels – this project focused on implementing a data management platform for the bank to better segment and digitally target customers.

Being able to develop my professional and career skills in the beautiful city of Barcelona, with a diverse group of people, ranging from many places around the world turned out to be one of the most positive growth experiences I’ve ever had. Culturally and professionally, I was able to grow immensely.
I learned way more soft skills and was forced to be social/interact at work more than I might have had to in other places. I was put outside my comfort zone in this way, because sometimes, at MIT I get so comfortable being with the same people all the time and talking about things that are only relatable to MIT students that it was interesting to go outside of this bubble and make friends in a completely new environment.
