Angelica's Story

Angelica Adhikari (MCP '28) traveled to Turin, Italy, to work with Ukrainian NGO Vid Sertsya Budova on developing multifunctional social and affordable housing.

"During my internship, I worked on the preliminary planning of a new city located northwest of Kyiv on a site of about 150 hectares. At this stage of the project, the primary objective was to develop a technically feasible masterplan that communicated the project's long-term vision and pitch it to the investors. ... My internship enabled me to contribute to a large-scale urban development project addressing one of Ukraine's most pressing post-war reconstruction challenges. Through masterplanning, zoning, phasing strategies, urban design, and visual communication, I supported the development of an investor-ready proposal that seeks to create a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable community capable of meeting the long-term needs of its future residents." -Angelica Adhikari

“MISTI Ukraine internship gave me the opportunity to work on a socially important and urgently needed project which is professionally meaningful for me. In the context of Ukraine’s ongoing recovery, the project seeks to address housing needs while creating resilient, inclusive, and sustainable communities for people whose lives have been deeply affected by the war.”
