21H.161 - The Middle East in the Twentieth Century is the preferred class of MIT-Arab World. The other courses may be taken with a final project relating to Jordan.

Additional Resources

Arabic language background is required.
Prior to internship, at least one year of Arabic studies, with plans for an additional year upon return. Potential for online language classes funded by MISTI prior to internship is an option.
Non-native speakers will also take Arabic classes during internship.



Every student needs a valid passport. Passports must be valid for a minimum of six months after the end of your placement.



Students should fly into the Queen Alia International Airport (AMM).

You will be reimbursed up to $1400 for the flight.
