Summer internships last 10-12 weeks
Longer opportunities available
Open to MIT undergrad and grad students, and recent alumni
Students must have a minimum of 4.0 GPA
Students must take a MIT course on the Middle East
Arabic language background is required
Prior to internship, at least one year of Arabic studies, with plans for an additional year upon return. Potential for online language classes funded by MISTI prior to internship is an option
Non-native speakers will also take Arabic classes during internship.

Students receive a living stipend for airfare, food, and accomodation.
Students must attend all MISTI and MIT-Arab World preparation and training sessions, write a final paper for academic course on Jordan country-related topics and a checkout meeting with the program manager
Opportunities are available in Jordanian universities, start-ups and companies, across disciplines.

Four weeks over January 2018.
Students must be available for every teaching day, and arrive in country at least the day before teaching begins.
GTL 2018 Placements will include:
Open to MIT sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students in all disciplines
There are no language requirements for GTL in Jordan
GPA 4.0 or better
Teaching Experience and strong interest in education
Students receive a stipend for travel costs, and accommodation and meals will be provided.
Once selected to participate, students will attend the Global Teaching Labs training sessions, the MIT-Arab World GTL Retreat (date TBA), and a checkout meeting with the program manager.
