Graham's story

Graham Cartwright '23, MEng '26, interned in the Data Science team at Air New Zealand and researched flight delays to reduce their frequency and severity. This experience helped him reflect on options for a job in data science or applying to grad school.

"My internship focused on improving Air New Zealand’s “on-time performance” (OTP), the industry term for how often flights get where they’re going ‘on-time’, that is, without a delay or cancellation."

"One of Air New Zealand's mantras is “Welcome as a friend”, and I certainly experienced this firsthand as a newcomer to both the company and the country."
