Daniel's story

Math major Daniel Alejandro Ochoa Quintero '27 wants to pursue research and, after his summer internship, sees the possibility of doing so in Europe.

"I worked at the École Normale Supérieure Campus Lyon. It is strongly focused on research. I did research in a subfield of Reinforcement Learning. I wanted to learn the language and their culture to talk with them in their native language and be able to visit the country not as a tourist, but as a "local". That's why I started to learn the language and decided to do MISTI France."

" It was a lovely experience and I learned a lot from both academics and the culture of France. These experiences have helped me gain a better perspective on what I want to do and why. I want to continue working on my career path and give back to future generations at some point as a way of gratitude."
