I interned for two months at ENS Paris-Saclay, one of the leading institutes in STEM research. I investigated models for permutation-equivariant neural network architectures, with applications to deep reinforcement learning and distributed computing. As part of my research (which is still ongoing), I have implemented a novel architecture for this class of problems that is more efficient and has more expressivity per layer. The research group is full of incredibly sociable, collaborative, and interesting people. Through their support, I have been able to adapt well to independent life and work in a culture that I hadn't had much prior exposure to, and I am grateful to have built relationships and connections that will last much longer than the internship. Their support made my experience abroad smooth and memorable.
