Maya's Story

MechE major Maya Ayoub '26 studied abroad at ETH Zurich in Switzerland in the spring of 2025, and took coursework in oceanography, seismic waves, bio-fluid dynamics, metal additive manufacturing, carbon capture, and acoustics.

I have really loved applying my MIT theory to application-based classes such as seismic waves and biofluiddynamics. These courses built upon the equations I learned in my MIT coursework and applied them to incredibly interesting situations such as cyclic pumping in the heart or attenuation within rocks. By applying the theory I was able to understand it better and get a wider intuition.
