Naima's story

Naima Aubry-Romero '29, a nuclear science and engineering major, applied knowledge from her math, physics, and thermal-fluids engineering classes to the project she was assigned during her internship at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC-CNS).

“This opportunity was much more than an internship. It allowed me to better understand myself by exploring my heritage and connection to my family, grow professionally, and adapt to living in a new city. I was able to learn from incredible mentors, contribute to meaningful work, and gain a new perspective on my identity and future goals.”

“This experience confirmed that I enjoy research and gave me a better understanding of what pursuing a PhD might be like. As a result, I am now more certain that I would like to continue my education after my undergraduate degree by pursuing a master's and potentially a PhD.”
