Raphi's Story

Raphi Kang '23, computation and cognition (Course 6-9) major, was in the computer science program, with a focus in computer vision and machine learning at ETH Zurich for the study abroad program.

"I took courses in machine perception, computer vision, mathematical foundations for computer vision, and another neuroscience class. I took the exams and also did a summer project at Disney Research where I wrote a 30 page thesis about neural style transfer work. MIT taught me how to apply machine learning! At ETH I learned more rigorous theory, learned a little bit of German, and a whole lot of math. Everyone was very friendly, and I loved getting to learn about different cultures."

"This study abroad experience has opened up a new world for me, and every moment of it will stay with me forever. I know many other students coming after will cherish it the same."
