"The project of my internship was to improve Astrolight's satellite-tracking software. Through rewriting the algorithm and configuring NVIDIA CUDA support for parallelized image processing, I sped up the software by a factor of 10. MIT prepared me directly through computer science and math courses, but also indirectly through the intense academic rigor of the school. The curricula and problem sets of the Institute are geared to make students tenacious problem-solvers, and this skill enabled me to overcome the numerous obstacles of the internship."
