MISTI Tips

Recommended Adaptors
Bring adaptors and transformers with you. Chargers (your phone, laptop), need an adaptor, but appliances (some speakers, cookware) need a transformer. Israel outlets are three-pronged, but European two-pronged adaptors are also compatible.

Pack Lightly
If you aren't living close to the airport, navigating the busses and trains with a lot of luggage is painful, and Israeli taxis are expensive, even if you set the meter beforehand. Try to stick to one large suitcase, a backpack, and a carry-on-- you'll thank yourself later.
Here are some items that you'll want to have in Israel. Some items starred below, such as linens, may be provided in your living space; check with your landlord or university. Note that all items mentioned below can be purchased in Israel, so don't fret if you forget something.
