In this pivotal time for the United States’ engagement with the Middle East, MISTI seeks to build critical cultural and scientific connections between MIT and the Arab World.

The MIT-Arab World Program offers opportunities for MIT students and faculty to engage and collaborate with peers in the region.

The MIT-Arab World Program matches MIT students with internship and research opportunities at leading companies, research labs and universities in Jordan and Morocco. Students complete intensive training prior to their internships, including Arabic language instruction and courses on the history, politics and culture of the host country.

Global Teaching Labs

Through the MISTI Global Teaching Labs program MIT students become teachers for one month over IAP in January. Students teach a variety of subjects, including a variety of STEM topics, entrepreneurship and leadership, and 3D printing. Students bring MIT’s unique and exciting hands-on teaching approach to high school classrooms.

Faculty Connections

The MISTI Global Seed Funds promote and support budding collaboration between faculty and researchers at MIT and their international counterparts. The MIT-Jordan Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation Seed Fund supports new collaborations between faculty and research scientists at MIT and their counterparts in Jordan.

Program Hosts and Partners

MISTI internship hosts and partners have a variety of opportunities to build lasting connections with members of the MIT community. Companies and labs that host MIT interns enjoy the fresh perspectives, ideas and enthusiasm our students bring.
