Before leaving the U.S., let your bank and credit card companies know that you will be using your ATM card and any credit cards you carry in Mexico so that they do not think someone has stolen your card and freeze your account. Make sure you know your pin number.

Best way to get pesos is using ATM’s (check fees) / exchange some US dollars at airport when arriving
Check with your bank if they have an agreement with Banks in Mexico to avoid transaction fees.
