Driving regulations and habits in many countries abroad are different from those in the United States, and driving overseas can be dangerous.

  • Undergraduate students (including those who are receiving a Master’s degree simultaneously with their undergraduate degree) are prohibited from operating any type of motor vehicle during their placement.
  • Graduate students and recently graduated seniors are strongly discouraged from operating any type of motor vehicle during their placement. All students are prohibited from being a passenger in a car driven by an undergraduate student from MIT or any other university during their placement.
