    • access to metro/public buses?

University housing

Contact your host to see if there are sublets available within the research group or have dorms available. Universities have excellent International Offices.

Research Institute housing

Explore whether the institute has a guesthouse. Contact your host to see if there are sublets available within the research group.

Shared apartments

Check out local university board postings, Craigslist and compartodepa.com (links below).

Hostels

Some students prefer to book a hostel and meet potential roommates upon arrival.

  • Aguascalientes:  Usually with a host family or in shared apartment. Universidad Panamericana can assist.

  • Your living situation might be different from what you are used to:
    • Depending on the location, AC is not common
    • Fire alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, and sprinklers are not common
    • Internet might not be as fast
    • You might not have hot water for a day or two, or more!
    • You might have to TURN on the water heater
    • When arriving make sure you know the best way to exit in case of an emergency
