ULVAC specializes in the design and manufacture of vacuum technologies and a wide range of technologies that require high vacuum for their fabrication. The equipment they design have application in many fields, from medical devices to automotive and aircraft components to consumer electronics.
The work at ULVAC is a mix of manufacturing equipment and technology based on design specifications provided by various customers (Ex: Panasonic, 24M, Universities) and research into the design and optimization of new technologies.
The work was very hands on, and I was allowed to make my own decisions on how to progress my project, although supervisors were always close at hand to advise me if I needed it.
Outside of work ULVAC was also very supportive and helped me settle in quickly to my new environment. They connected me with groups in the area that allowed me to continue my usual hobbies.
