Henry shares about his internship and virtual reality!

Henry (B.S. Electrical Engineering and Computer Science '24) is interning at Infosys in India to develop virtual reality experiences!

"During my free weekends, I have been trying to travel to some of the other major cities in the country with the other interns. This is a photo from my trip to Mumbai. I also have plans to visit Hampi, Kolkata, Agra, and Jaipur."

Everything has been going great so far!  Project-wise, I am working on a virtual reality studio web app that essentially allows users without a technical background to develop virtual reality experiences.  The project is very interesting, and I love that I am working on a tangible piece of software.

Outside of my project, my favorite thing about my internship has definitely been the other interns. Infosys recruits interns from all over the world, so of the 30 people interning on campus, we are from 11 different countries. This has created a very diverse group, and it's really been great to get to meet and travel with everyone!

There are around 30 interns staying on campus, so each night there is always something going on. These are some of my evening trips into the city.

Though I don't have much of a morning commute as I live on the employee campus, Infosys does provide all of its interns a cab service around Bangalore, so I have spent most of my evenings with the other interns commuting to the various temples, restaurants, and shopping districts throughout the city. Though the Bangalore traffic is pretty extreme, the city is full of life, and each day has been filled with new and unique experiences.

Overall, I have definitely loved the first half of my internship so far. The project has been keeping me engaged during my days in the office, the many different foods I have tried have all been delicious and far too numerous to list on this page, each and every person I've met has been incredibly friendly and kind, and traveling both within Bangalore and to some of the other major cities within India has created memories that will last a lifetime.  Because of this, I'm really excited to see where the last four weeks of the internship take me!

Last weekend, Infosys took all of its interns to its campus in Mysore for a weekend excursion. The Mysore campus was beautiful, and I loved getting to see everything.
