How do you get to work? How do you get around in general?
I usually take auto-rickshaws to get to and from places. They’re like mini roller coasters, the way they weave in and out of the traffic!

What is your work/internship like day-to-day?
I am interning with The/Prize team (self-dubbed “prized team”), which holds innovation inducement challenges that offer livelihood opportunities for the most vulnerable Indians. I am helping to develop the problem statement for our new challenge, identify areas where our programming can be improved, and propose ideas and frameworks in those areas. We’re trying to do a bunch of intentional work to accelerate the reduction of poverty, thinking about how we can pinpoint the chokeholds of progress in the innovation ecosystem and leverage existing resources (government, researchers, professionals, for-profit companies, NGOs, and civil society – The/Nudge has an impressive list of partners). It’s been a bit overwhelming to grasp the complexities of our work, but the exposure urges me to consider where I can be most helpful both at my internship and once I graduate. Just being here has given me a great perspective on the social impact sector…

What is an aspect of your work that you're excited about?
The/Nudge does a lot of interesting work in different areas, including skill development, rural development, and social entrepreneurship. I’m looking forward to learning more about their organization structure (how everything comes together), joining an immersive field visit, and attending their Charcha convention in Hyderabad later this month! And of course hanging out with all the people I’ve met, who have been so welcoming and so excited to show me all their favorite things.

Have you tried any new foods you enjoyed or seen anything new?
I’ve enjoyed indulging in Indian culture, trying all the different spices and sweets, roaming the markets, checking out street art, teasing and getting teased by my team, and having great conversations with people with different life experiences! Definitely would want to visit again - and possibly even work here - in the future!
