From pfand and recycling to reliable public transport and spending free time in nature, I personally got to experience what makes Germany a leader in sustainability! Thank you, MISTI, for the opportunity to see what eco-friendly measures are out there and how they can be implemented in other places!

Despite being the largest metropolis in the Americas, São Paulo puts emphasis on sustainability. A prime example of this commitment is its advanced subway system, which I often used while going to work. The photograph was taken in Pinheiros, one of the largest and busiest stations in the network.

"What were you up to during this summer?

“Creating a new model for an Institute of Technology in Amazonia to improve the Amazonian quality of life by fostering sustainability.”

My standard answer has never sounded complete. Talking about the energy summit, the Brazilian Alumni events, the Brazilian Technology Olympiad, the museums, the concerts, the visit to the best universities in Brazil (USP, UNICAMP), the field trip to the forests, and the presentation of our project to the government would also not cover everything.

At the end of the day, sustainability is ultimately about the people."
