While enjoying Danish work culture, MechE student Lucy used her engineering skills to design parts for wind turbines
During her internship at COWI, Lucy Milde worked on the design of the latch and door in the transition piece of a wind turbine, as well as how to mount the piece on the turbine’s foundation, allowing workers to enter the turbine.
“I was excited about this opportunity partly because I wanted to experience Danish culture and life in Copenhagen, but primarily because of this position. I really enjoyed working with my coworkers and found my projects interesting and challenging.”
Outside of her internship, Lucy also experienced Danish work culture, enjoying a more relaxed, informal culture and spending time on non-work activities with her coworkers, such as playing ping pong in the company rec room.
