Engineering major works in computational materials science in Russia
“Going into the 21st century, energy is a huge issue that a lot of materials science is trying to solve.
As an undergrad in materials science, I want to make sure I’m exploring all the different ways I can make a difference,” Flor says.
She explains that she chose Russia for its rich culture. On top of that, she enjoyed being on her own in a new country, figuring everything out with basic knowledge of the language.
“I want to work outside the U.S. at some point. I think it’s been very beneficial for me to see what work cultures can be like in a country other than the U.S.,” Flor adds.
