Study Options

The University of Edinburgh offers a huge range of courses for Study Abroad students, with no fixed study programs. The only thing limiting your course selection is whether you meet the course entry requirements. Please note that some subject areas have limited availability. More information can be found online here: Popular subject areas

Students are expected to take full course load (60 credits per semester, or 120 credits for the academic year)

Transfer Credit

Information on the transfer credit process at MIT can be found here.

Financial aid for year or semester programs:

Aid is portable. A few months before departure, SFS and MISTI will share with the students and the most up-to-date budget for participation on the program based on an agreement with the host institution. Admitted students who receive financial aid should make an appointment with the financial aid representative to whom they are assigned to discuss the particulars; they should bring the budget received from MISTI to that meeting.

The University has a wide variety of accommodation largely within walking distance of the main University area in the city center.  Learn more about undergraduate housing here: Living in Edinburgh
