Based on its belief in the importance of building a scientific cultural ground, with serious attention to scientific research, cultural enlightenment, community innovation, and encouraging reading, the Arab Bank established The Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation (AHSF) in 1978, as a non-profit initiative and a pioneering step to contribute to building a torch of culture and creativity in Jordan and the Arab world, as well as to be its arm for social, cultural and intellectual responsibility. The Foundation is based on three pillars: "Thought Leadership, Literature, and Arts, and Innovation".

We strongly encourage interested international partners to contact MIT professors and researchers directly to discuss any ideas about collaboration and potential projects. If you already have faculty connections, that is great! If not, the following links will help you find faculty connections: MIT Schools and Departments and MIT Centers and Labs. Clear and concise emails are best, and please be aware that professors might not respond immediately. More guidance on strategies for outreach and application can be seen in this clip.

If you are having difficulty finding or connecting with relevant faculty, please contact MIT Alumni Club of Jordan Area representative: Hazem Zureiqat, hzureiqat [at] alum.mit.edu (hzureiqat[at]alum[dot]mit[dot]edu)

Jordanian faculty and researchers may also contact the Shoman Foundation Scientific Research Fund at Research.fund [at] shoman.org.jo (Research[dot]fund[at]shoman[dot]org[dot]jo)
