MIT-Czech Republic Seed Fund

Launched in 2021, the MIT-Czech Republic Seed Fund is a new joint project of MISTI, the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS), and the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Czech Academy of Sciences (IOCB Prague), with the IOCB Prague subsidiary IOCB Tech providing funding.

Through an annual call for proposals, the fund promotes the exchange between faculty and students at MIT and at member research institutions of the Czech Academy of Sciences and all universities in the Czech Republic.

The fund is open to all disciplines.

All general Global Seed Funds criteria, application, and evaluation procedures apply.

$25,000

Priority will be given to projects that:

  • propose a balanced exchange between MIT and Czech participants;
  • involve students and young scientists;
  • are new or entering a new phase;
  • are likely to be sustainable beyond the grant period.
